The main strength of Mages is their ability to toss out loads of casting damage. Mages are great additions to groups in both PvE and PvP for this reason and because they contain unique abilities like Iceblock and Sheep, which can be useful to pull in PvE settings and to protect and distract in PvP settings. The three talent trees available to Mages are Frost, Fire, and Arcane. Each tree has talents dedicated to increasing damage and making Mages more potent and destructive enemies.
Below you will find a list of Wrath of the Lich King talent builds for Mages. Please feel free to try them out and to leave comments so that we can modify, add, or remove particular builds in order to provide the best possible builds.

Update lolol, if you hadnt noticed lately arcane mage is OWNING in pvp.
The combination of slow + instant casts + blink = pew pew, of course this is only really true once arcane barrage becomes available to them. I was critting up to 2.5k with an instant arcane barrage =- and im not geared either.. also another thing with arc i thought was pretty cool was the arcane blast -> POM -> arcane power -> arcane blast... seeing as your arcane blast gets more powerful the more you cast it you would be receiving even more of a bonus - and still its instant.
But also full arcane = pretty crap for pve.
