Naxxramas Construct Quarter (Abomination Quarter)

The Abom quarter is the North Western quarter of Naxxramas. It's also the most exciting quarter as it is home to some dynamic and fun encounters. Patchwerk is a great DPS test, Grobbulus drive you insane if you try to bring noobs into the raid and Thddius's polarity shifts are an absolute blast.

Patchwerk

Patchwerk is the most straight forward encounter in Naxxramas, and possibly all raids. The only mechanic you need worry about is his Hateful Strike. Hateful Strike hits the character with the highest health and who is in melee range for a ton of damage.

Patchwerk will go crazy in 6 minutes and has around 3.3 million hp (as of beta's end.) This works out to require around 9150dps total raid dps. In most beta runs with PvP geared premades, 10 good players were able to kill Patchwerk in between 5 and 6 minutes.

Grobbulus

Grobbulus will be an annoying encounter if your entire raid is not familiar with the fight.
* Grobbulus will periodically drop Poison Clouds. They will expand for over a minute and eventually disappear, doing damage to anyone who touches them. Your main tank needs to slowly circle the outside of inner room (along the grates) the entire fight to avoid standing in the clouds.

* Grobbulus will use Mutating Injection on a random member of your raid. DO NOT DISPELL IT. That member, once infected, must run outside the circle your tank is pathing, where they will drop a cloud similar to the Poison Cloud mentioned above.

* Grobbulus will launch Slime Spray at a raid member which will spawn a Fallout Slime. Ranged DPS needs to immediately switch focus to kill the adds before they do too much damage.

If your tank can avoid the Poison Clouds and none of your raid members drop a cloud inside the circle, this fight is easy, otherwise; enjoy running back.

Gluth

Gluth is an interesting boss, although if done correctly he should present no issue. The main point to this fight is the adds that come, called "Zombie Chow". If they get to close to gluth, he eats them, and this heals him for a large amount of health. The other half of this fight, is his "Decimate" ability, which, once used, reduces everyone in the room except himselt to 5%. Also, he stacks a mortal wound type debuff on the tank with agro, and the other tank needs to taunt every time one tank gets 3-4 stacks.

You tank him at the top end of the room, the tank needs to grab him ad you run in and pull him all the way to the other side. The adds will spawn from the side of the room he started on, and will need two people to handle. One, a kiting class, such as a lock, hunter or mage, but we have also done it with even a rogue. They need to get agro on all the adds, and kite them around the part of the room where the boss started in circles, and get agro on any adds that come. They will need an area of slows, such as an earthbind totem, so the adds dont catch them. The other is a healer, preferably a shammy for earthbind totem, who heals the add kiter. When he casts decimate, not before, everyone in the room needs to help nuke the adds down before they reach the boss, as as this point they will start moving towards him. The other two healers need to top the MT up fast here, as he will also be reduced to 5%. The fight is simple once you grasp that, as it is just repeating that every time he casts decimate, and having the tanks taunt.

Thaddius

When you enter the room, there are 2 raised platforms. One to the left, and one to the right. The boss is straight ahead.

The right Platform has a mini-boss named Feugen, and the left platform has a mini-boss named Stalagg.

Feugen:
1) Melee hits for about 3k
2) Staic Field - AoE for about 2.5k every 3 seconds (hits everyone on that platform)

Stalagg:
1) Melee hits for about 4k
2) Power Surge - Increases Haste by 200% for 10 seconds.

So you need to split the raid into 2 groups. Usually, you want to send your 2 strongest DPS, 1 tank, and 2 more AoE-centric healers to Feugen. Send the rest to Stalagg.

Once engaged, each boss will pull the other one's tank to them (i.e. do a tank swap). DPS should hold back at this point, and allow new tanks to gain aggro. Then, continue to kill them.

NOTE - Both of the mini-bosses have to die within 5 seconds of each other, or else the dead one will ressurect at full health. So communication is critical. One way for DPS to keep track of the other mini-boss is to set one to Focus. Do NOT be afraid to stop DPSing all together while waiting for the other gorup to catch up.

OK, once both mini-bosses die, you have 15 seconds to jump off the platforms and engage Thaddius. Remember - you have to JUMP off edge of platform. If you walk/run off, then you'll fall into the muck and probably die shortly thereafter. It's truly amazing how this can be the hard part for many people.

Now, have the MT pick up Thaddius, and start DPSing the heck out of him.

Abilities:
1) Chain Lightning - Hits 3 targets for about 4.5k damage (casts roughly every 15 seconds).
2) Ball Lightning - Basically sipes group if no one is in melee range.
3) Polarity Shift (like first boss in heroic Mechanar). You will damage people next to you if they have opposite polarity. You get DPS buff if you are near same polarity players.

Polarity shift is really the only thing you need to worry about. A good strategy is to pick a side for each polarity (i.e. positive on right and negative on left, or whatever). Then, when you get a polarity - you go to your side. Now, make sure to pick a path to run where you won't get near people from other polarity. We basically said - run counterclockwise (i.e. run around right side of boss). That way, you won't run by anyone else of opposing polarity when switching sides.

Rinse and repeat until boss is dead.

6 min engrage timer. So rinse and repeat for less than 6 mins and hope boss is dead :)
