Naxxramas Plague Quarter

The Plague Quarter is usually the first wing completed. Probably because it can be the quickest if done properly. The most challenging boss is Heigan the Unclean, and he is only challenging to players who haven't encountered him before. You will also face Noth the Plaguebringer and Loatheb.

Noth the Plaguebringer

Quick Strategies

Druids & Mages must immediately remove curse Curse of the Plaguebringer. If failed to do so it will spread as Wrath of the Plaguebringer which will likely wipe the raid.

Everyone must be prepared for Noth to Blink which will reset everyone's threat, meaning tanks will have to reestablish aggro as quickly as possible.

Throughout the encounter Plagued Warriors and Plagued Champions will be spawned. Warriors every 30 seconds and Champions when Noth ascends to the balcony. They should be rounded up by a tank and dispatched while Noth is on the balcony.

Heigan the Unclean

Heigan is the most challenging boss of the Plague Quarter. For no other reason than the Eruption dance everyone will need to understand to survive. There have been several aids created to help new players understand the dance.

As seen in the below animation during phase 1 all melee along with the tank must run Heigan back and from zone 4 (on the right) to 3, 2 then 1, back to 2, 3 and 4, then left again. During Phase 2 Heigan will portal himself to the platform and everyone must get out of his damaging AoE and do the Eruption dance as seen. *Players are no longer teleported into the Gauntlet.

More Important Stuff

During Phase 1, Heigan will cast an AoE Spell Disruption. The range is about 20-30yds and it's important that the tank keeps Heigan far enough away from the Platform that the healers & casters do not have to deal with this crippling ability.

During Phase 2, Heigan will channel an AoE damaging spell (unknown name) which does almost as much damage as the Eruption. The range is slightly bigger than the platform (by about 5 yards) so you must avoid the platform by an extra 5 yards or it will look like you died from Eruption and everyone will laugh at you. Never stop moving, the time between eruptions are far quicker, all DPS, Healing and Tanking should be stopped. Hunters can DPS but advisable not to if your are concerned about having being top on the Threat Table at the beginning of the second phase 1.

Loatheb

Loatheb is the final boss in the Plague Quarter. This encounter relatively easy as long as the healers know what is going on. Here's the breakdown:

Every 20 seconds or so Loatheb will cast a Corrupted Mind spell on everyone reducing all healing effects by 100%, meaning the healers can not heal until the debuff wears off. It lasts for about 15 seconds, leaving a 3-5 second window where you can heal your party.

It's important that all the casters stack up at least 5 yards away from Loatheb to maximize the effects of chain heal.

Spores will spawn on 20-25 yards away from Loatheb. When they are killed they will explode giving Fungal Creep to up to 5 players within 5 yards. Don't be selfish, wait for at least 5 people to run over to the spore before killing it.

Self healing is important here, however it won't work during Corrupted Mind so wait for the 3-5 second window to use your heals.
