World of Warcraft

Hi,

Im a parent of a now WOW fanatic. Please can you explain to me the rules and regulations of having this game as I don't understand the setup, continuation of use etc. My daughter has bought the game for £12 but i understand that you still have to pay a monthly charge to access it. Is this correct? This is concerning as obviously it's myself that ends up paying!!

Thanks
Concerned Parent

Hello Concerned parent,

It is indeed true that there is a monthly charge to play the game after your 30 months of free time ends when you initially purchase the game. I have no idea how much that is a month in your currency though.

It's a licencing fee. You never really own the software. The monthly costs are between 12-15 American depending on plan that you opt for (monthly, 6 months at once, a year, etc...)

12 pounds for a software as sophisticated as WoW gets you the client portion that installs on your pc. The monthly licence fee gives you free upgrades and the right to connect to the server to play it.
