If I take up Elemental Leatherworking in order to craft the BoP Items available to that specialty, will I loose the items if I decide to switch to Tribal therefore having both the BoP's available to each of the specialties? I know that I will loose the recipes, but I dont want to loose the items I already created.

you wont lose the items, but you wont be able to wear them.
No you will not lose the items you already created.
You can switch to as many specialties as you want and even unlearn the entire leatherworking profession and you will still keep all of your crafted items.
You will keep the items, but not be able to use them until you switch back to that specialty again.
