There are a few key automated druid tanking macros that I use while playing World of Warcraft. It doesn't matter if I'm in a group or in a raid, I have classified them into two different types, AoE Tanking and Single Target or (Boss Tanking). The Druid as a tank is one of the easiest classes to macro. What I do while tanking is set a button on my interface designated for this macro. I use an G15 Keyboard to "autofire" the tanking macro so it's being pressed at a rate of at least 1 time per second and is set to run until I stop the auto fire again.
Now you don't have to do this you can spam the macro and have it work just fine. These macros are only used to help you keep threat, don't forget that you will have to manually weave in your tanking cooldowns, trinkets, and other abilities you want to use. I do this by shutting off autofire fast and just pressing whatever ability I want to use. Remember, the only abilities that you won't be able to use while pressing your macro are those on the global cooldown, you will find a lot of your abilities are ready for you to press while you are doing your macro, you can do this with your mouse. While pressing the macro with your other hand. It works great for both groups and raids.
Single Target Druid Tanking
This is a more boss heavy or single target macro, because I have glyphs on that allow my Maul to hit more than one target it has a partial AoE effect. If you are undergeared compared to the dps or you have retarded dps playing with you who can't control threat, you may want to stack your lacerates manually at the start to get the full amount on them. This has worked fine all the way from 4200 gearscore to 5k gearscore tanking 25 man Onyxia's and ToTC, as well as any instance bosses.
#show Maul
/castsequence Mangle (Bear), Lacerate, Lacerate
/castrandom Maul
AoE Druid Tanking
This is one of the most elite macros I've made for a tank class, between maul hitting an extra target, swipe going off nonstop, and the occasional mangle on the target I have focused, this does great wonders for AoE pulls. In most instances you can let this run on single target fights because it will take your DPS awhile to pull aggro off you, they'll still be able to assist you on AoE pulls and you'll keep threat because of the occassional mangle, your rage is usually infinite on multi pulls so sit back and watch this macro do it's thing.
#show Swipe (Bear)
/castsequence Swipe (Bear), Swipe (Bear), Swipe (Bear), Mangle (Bear)
/castrandom Maul
Summary
I don't really use any other tanking macros but if you have some you'd like to add to this guide you can send an email to webmaster@almostgaming.com
