It was recently announced on Almost Gaming that Hayden Hawke, the author of The Secret Gold Guide, was releasing a leveling guide. Although I am unaware of the exact release date of the guide it appears to be soon and I have had the special opportunity of reviewing the guide before its official release.
First off, this is not your typical leveling guide. The most popular leveling guides out there today are focused on using in-game addons which basically use an arrow to point you in the direction to go. While personally I have used and enjoy these types of addons I am a bit leery of how they are legal when Blizzard prohibits the sale of in-game addons (they clalim you aren't buying the addon to get around this and that you get it for free...) and not to mention you can download QuestHelper, which is what I normally use despite the fact that I have access to lots of leveling guides.
ANYWAY, back on topic. Hayden's leveling guide is NOT an in-game addon and does not recommend that you only quest to level. The guide, along with a bunch of additional preparation sections and other resources, consists of a solo guide, quest guide, AoE guide, and run through guide. With this guide you will learn to level in a way in which you actually learn how to play your class and you don't have to do the same thing over and over. There are lots of options and creative suggestions for how to level to 80 and how to level to have fun.
I really enjoy leveling, I am not one of those players who does everything they can to level as fast as possible while not enjoying 1-79. I like the fact that Hayden's guide, while it will show you the fastest ways to level, is not about mindless follow an arrow leveling and leveling as fast as possible at all costs.
I highly suggest that you take a look at this guide as it is like nothing you have seen before!
