Last week Blizzard began the Great Honor Controversy by announcing that all player earned Honor and Honor Marks would be wiped out when Wrath of the Lich King goes live. This was set to affect players of all level and skill. Players sprung up on the forums pointing out that an Honor reset was similar to a gold reset. Players argued that precedence was set when The Burning Crusade went live, when they DID NOT reset honor. There was even reference made to the official World of Warcraft Honor FAQ which says stated:
Do I need to keep playing to keep my honor points intact?
No, honor points will accumulate like currency, similar to the gold and silver you obtain through killing monsters or completing quests, and will not decay over time.
It appears Blizzard reevaluated their decision based on player's reactions. Bornakk announced tonight there will be no reset. Instead, the cost of items will be higher to account for players who have built up honor during The Burning Crusade.
Before you run out to Alterac Valley and AFK your way to 75,000 honor, don't forget all level 80 PvP gear will have an Arena Rating Requirement - or so they say. Stay tuned to see all the level 80 PvP Gear.
