I like seeing othe's view on
I like seeing othe's view on the way to spec for leveling. One issue i see always missed is the best or most useful pet to use for this marathon of leveling. Your spec is nice but only half of the answer to the problem.
The type of pet depends on
The type of pet depends on how you play the game...different pets might be useful in raids than in soloing or dungeons. Generally, you usually aren’t that worried about dps when soloing. In general there's more concern about your pet's tanking ability. In general, for soloing, the cat/spirit beast provides the single best hunter buff. However, tenacity pets (bears, boars, gorillas, etc.) are best at tanking.
For most low end dungeons (5-man, etc) you want to concentrate on pets that bring buffs, rather than debuffs. This makes the cat/spirit beast and wolf/devilsaur your top options, though BM hunters have additional options of silithid, shale spider, and corehound.
Last for raids, well, dps is the key. In general, you should bring the pet that provides the best missing raid buff for your raid. There are a couple of places on the web that shows the dps/buff/debuffs associated with each pet type.
