Secrets from the World's Best Rogue

How to find a good guild and how to stay away from bad ones

It's late in the calendar year and WOTLK is out on the horizon. You may have been playing alts this entire time or been a casual gamer but you now decide that you want to raid and see content and you need to do it fast. In this article we will talk about some of the approaches to finding a guild that meets your needs. First we will talk about how to find a good and then after that introduction I will tell you how to ensure you've made the right choice or how to make sure the guild you've decided on is good.

Step 1: What content do you want to do?

Shamans are for...

Arguably one of the easiest classes to gear out for Raiding due to the +hit totems and talents, Shamans have also been known for melee dps and healing, but what are they really for? Is it PvP? Maybe! Is it Arena? Who knows, so far in the series people have voted and we are left with the following results.

Hunters:

Causing a high amount of damage in groups/raids: 26%
Grinding to 70 as fast as possible and then not being able to get a group: 22%
Killing your group in instances by pulling aggro and then Feigning Death: 22%

Mages:

Hunters are for....

Commonly referred to as "Huntards" the class Hunter is commonly used for PvP and Crowd Control in instances, but what are they really for?

So far we've done 4 classes and the results and the primary results seem to be as expected, but some of the 2nd results are quite humorous.

Here are the results so far:

Rogues:
Causing a High Amount of DPS: 38%
Killing noobs or griefing other players: 21%
Crowd control with Sap and other things: 12%

Priests:
Healing other players in raid or group: 51%
Doing DPS in Shadowform: 18%
Mindcontrolling people and throwing them off a cliff: 12%

Mages are For...

So far into the Saga we have found out what the population has thought some of the classes are for. Up to the point of this article we have the following top results.

Rogues:
Causing a High Amount of DPS: 38%
Killing noobs or griefing other players: 22%
Crowd control with Sap and other things: 13%

Priests:
Healing other players in raid or group: 51%
Doing DPS in Shadowform: 18%
Mindcontrolling people and throwing them off a cliff: 12%

Warriors:
The best tanks: 37%
Will work as tanks but aren't ideal for doing damage: 29%

Priests are For....

The saga continues, people spoke out and told us what they thought Rogues were For.

Rogues are For....

A lot of people play the Rogue class, recent wow Census data shows that 13% of all classes are Rogue, making it the 2nd most highly played class behind hunter at 15%. Why do so many people play Rogues? Is it the lore? Is it for playstyle? Is it because it's easy? Who knows, but hopefully the poll in this article will help us find that out.

So tell us, what do you think the Rogue class is primarily used for or what should it be used for? The vote is in your hands. Will it be Crowd Control, Damage Per Second, or something else?

How to do DPS with an Assassination Rogue

The assassination tree focuses on very fast combo point and energy regeneration allowing you to use more finishing moves. It is also heavily geared toward using Poisons for damage output and primarily you will see people who go all the way into the Assassination tree using at least one dagger if not two for Mutilate.

Although going full on into the Assassination tree is primarily considered a PvP talent build, this guide will focus on ways to maximize your DPS while in PvE using Assassination.

The Strategy

How to do DPS with a Combat Rogue

Due to the overwhelming support of my article How to do DPS with a Subtlety Rogue it gives me great pleasure to bring you this follow up article "How to do DPS with a combat rogue".

Before I begin on the guide I want to make sure that you understand the following things about these guides.

1) These guides are to help you make the best out of combat/subtlety/assassination, depending on which you want to play

2) I am not recommending you choose any of these builds unless it fits your playstyle / desires

How to do DPS with Subtlety Rogue

A lot of people expressed great concerns with my last post How to tell if the rogue in your group sucks (probably mostly rogues who suck) but I will give them the benefit of the doubt and address some of their concerns. Now obviously, if we use common sense, this isn't the highest way to achieve DPS, but you will be able to hit upwards of 700dps using this build without having gear passed Karazhan. Not the best, but it's not bad either for how usable you are in 5 man groups.

How to tell if the Rogue in your group sucks

Rogues are one of the most played class in World of Warcraft. They are also the one class most associated with noob players or unskilled players because of how easy they "can" be to play if you don't utilize their full abilities.

Because it's so hard to sort through the good and the bad I've come up with a list of abilities and skills that you are going to say are common sense or obvious, but you will be able to filter out 90% of the Rogue noobies from your group.
