Warrior Tanking

There are minor things that change from tank to tank so there isn't a standard "These are the best enchants for a tank" it's really dependent on the tanking class as you will see if you compare these enchants to the Death Knight enchants. Some stats are just more important than others depending on the tank.

This guide will cover what the best enchants for your Warrior by slot. This guide assumes that you are defense capped at 540 defense, if you are not, then you may want to take any defense enchants that may have not made their way to the #1 slot.

Warriors will spend most of their talent points in the Protection tree. There are a few options we can choose and a lot of ways to tweak the build depending if you are going to be doing AoE Tanking or Single Target tanking. Inside each of those options you can also choose things for Raid Boss tanking or Raid AoE tanking. The Warrior has a variety of talents and skills for a bunch of different scenarios.

Warriors like Paladins have the ability to dodge, block, and parry. The difference between a Paladin and Warrior in terms of melee tanking stats is that Warriors get a bigger bonus from Strength and less of a Bonus from Agility as Paladins do, otherwise they are virtually the same stats with those variations.

The warrior is probably the hardest class I've had to make a threat macro for out of all the tank classes. There are two random type abilities you want to keep up and that makes this macro not as efficient as a manual tank macro. Nonetheless, I've used the single target macro and generated over 5k threat per second consistently at 4k gearscore. How well it will scale into Icecrown Riaiding remains to be seen yet as some of the better geared DPS are putting out over 10k threat per second.
