Death knight, starting hints and advice.
Welcome to the Death Knight Starting Guide!
Death Knights begin their game in the service of Arthas, the Lich King, at Acherus, their floating base of operations high above the Eastern Plaguelands.
Through a series of quests, new Death Knights realize the error of their ways and break away from the forces of the Scourge, choosing a new path among the Alliance or the Horde.
The Death Knight starting zone is a instanced Starting Zone, that itself moves through phases.
-meaning that your cut off from the real game untill you finish a majority of the starting quests
- this isn't nessisarily a bad thing, but it also means that you cannot speed your way through these starting quests by partying up with other non-death knight class players...
Each phase is different, not only do the enemys of the death knight change but the enviroment as well, and it depends on the progression of the Death Knight and their fellows through the zone's storyline.

this guide is not to walk you through the quests for the starting area, but to give you advice and tell you some things i wish i had done before i left.

Heres a few ideas and hints that will make your stay in the eastern plaguelands all the more enjoyable.
1. As soon as you level, train. You get a ton of fancy new abilities each level, and they really make the quests go smoothly.
-as if they didnt go smoothly...
2. Death Knights start with no talent points, even though they are level 55 to start with. You gain talent points via questing. Therefore, check your Talents after every single quest. You just might have new points to spend!
3. Read your quests. Seems simple, but many of the quests in this zone require very specific steps to complete them. If you skim, you might miss something! Not to mention the loads of interesting lore packed into the zone.
-gotta give kudos to blizzard, epic lore packed into every bite.
4. Don't fly your awesome Vanquisher outside of Havenshire/New Avalon. It will get grumpy. YOU WILL DIE.
-Its still fun to fall from that high... so its up to you , but ya you will die.
5. The quests in the Death Knight Starting Experience will give you enough experience to get to level 58 before leaving. However, if you want to make sure, kill a few extra Crusaders here and there for the added experience boost.
and to me at least the two most important things... go hand in hand i guess
6. As reward for the quest "Noth's Special Brew" you recieve five of 'Noth's Special Brew'.
This quest opens up a repeatable version. "More Skulls For Brew" in which you receive no exp bonus for completion but you receive more 'Noth's Special Brew'. these 'potions' restore life as well as runic power, they are quite an asset, i personally wish that i could make more at this point
7. While there is no mailbox in Acherus, there is one down in Havenshire. The arrow on this map shows location. Your Death Knight starts with everything they will need for the first three levels, but if you absolutely must have bigger bags, there most definitely is a way to get them to your new Death Knight.
use the images to the left and right to assist you in locateing this mailbox.
