Druid PvP Strategies

This guide provides druid PvP tactics and tricks. If you're looking for a EXTREMELY in depth druid guide check out this, it covers everything you'll ever want to know about your druid.

Druid vs Warrior

Nature's Grasp, Starfire, Moonfire, Wrath, recast Root = Dead

Druid vs Rogue

Nature's Grasp, Faerie Fire, Starfire, Moonfire, Wrath, Recast Root = Dead. If they get out of root early, then slap a Regrowth + Rejuv combo on yourself ASAP and go bear form. Demoralizing Roar immediately, then stun them with Bash. Go back to caster. Root, and repeat.

Druid vs Mage

Sneeze in their general direction... Mages are so easy to kill with a druid it's not even funny. If you see Polymorph being cast, go into travel form (less mana cost) and you are immune. Keep Rejuv on at all times, and if you have Nature's Swiftness, then they are even easier. If you need to heal, do it a bit earlier than usual, and start a heal, then hit ESC to cancel it, Mage wastes counterspell on you and you are free to heal, or if the counterspell silences you, that's the reason you start the heal a bit earlier.

Druid vs Priest

Have a hard hitting 2H weapon, melee a lot, and also keep Moonfire on. When they fear you and use their little shadow spells, use Regrowth immediately, and be ready with an instant cast Healing Touch. It's simply a battle of attrition as most priests blow 3/4 of their mana trying to kill you quickly. Survive the initial onslaught and you own priests 9 times out of 10.

Druid vs Shaman

Once again, a battle of attrition. Melee them, toss on Moonfire, and keep yourself healed. Heal right after they Earthshock or Frost Shock you. If you have to heal while they have Earthshock ready, start casting Regrowth, then immediately hit ESC to cancel the spell. 9 times out of 10, the Shaman will waste Earthshock on you that way. Sure you take the damage (that's why you do this, when you are at about 50% health), but you then can recast your healing spells and they cant do anything about it. Windfury Weapon is a bit of a pain, but it's easy to get past. Bear Form + Demoralizing Roar takes some bite from it, as well as a stun, go back to caster and heal. I have never found Shamans to be hard to kill.

Druid vs Hunter

Ignore pet, either use Nature's Grasp to root it, or Hibernate it. If Hunter uses Viper Sting (Mana Drain Shot) Use Abolish Poison to cure it. Root the hunter, get in melee range, and take him down.

Druid vs Warlock

Nature's Grasp the pet, Moonfire the Warlock, and keep Rejuv on at all times, be ready with a fast Regrowth or instant cast Healing Touch. Warlocks aren't all that hard to beat. Although sometimes it will take forever, since all some know how to do is spam Fear.

Druid vs Druid

Battle of Attrition once again. I haven't lost to a druid ever since going to a Restoration build. Melee, Moonfire, keep Rejuv on yourself, and be ready with a timely Bear Form stun to prevent healing. I have a VERY high spirit, so I regen mana very quickly, and will out regen most anyone. I don't worry about being low on mana against druids. Rooting them while they are in caster form will make them use a form that will waste some mana, but smart druids use Travel Form which is all of 110 mana. So if you see him use Travel Form to break root, don't bother doing it again.

Druid vs Paladin

Still haven't been beaten by one yet. Keep Rejuv on at ALL times, have a good hard hitting melee weapon, and use Moonfire as well. If you get to 50%, use Regrowth and Rejuv combo. I say 50% because if the Pally has stun up, then you should be able to survive till stun wears off, to then cast another Regrowth. Once again its a battle of attrition, outlast the Paladin's mana, and you will win.

It's always extremely close...

never 9 out of 10 times....stop fight noob's in the bg's

A very good druid will probably win, but this guy isn't

you can only look at guides

you can only look at guides when considering a 1v1 situation, as soon as there are more characters involve the situation becomes impossible to control, so lets look at a 1v1 situation.

you will most likely get your #%!#$ kicked by a druid unless you have a character that can make a surprise attack, so once again the situation depends.

a person that knows how to play a rogue, will never loose to a druid.
a person that knows how to play a paladin, will never loose to a druid.

thats it, all other characters will have a fair fight with a druid, either loss or win, depends ;)

so, therefore a rogue in a 1v1 game, resilience is pretty much useless, arp and atp will be the way to go.
1v1-games usually occurs in world pvp, so in bg's resilience would be better, on the other hand it all depends
on your gaming style, i use arp and atp in all pvp situations, im a druid lv80 feral spec only for atp no armor
contribution at all only dmg dmg dmg, and it fits me very well since i NEVER go in a fight alone :D:D:D:D:D
im always second or third in into a fight ahahah, so i rarly get hit ;) just finish enemies off fast and dissapears ...

so rogues and druids with my playing style better off with going for attack power which is twice as much on pve gear
and get arp/atp off gems and enchants to get your power boosted up towards the 'magical' 10k limit :D

and again, this guide, just a hint on how you can use the restoration druids talents to finish off some characters...

Your opinion means nothing

Your opinion means nothing when you trash someone while you are giving it.

If you leave out the filth and stick to WOW then you can have some respect.

Lol dude... so you wanna say

Lol dude... so you wanna say I should never use other forms, and just spam spells?! Lolwut?!

I have *full* S4 on my druid (had full s3 last season) and I was really in 'lol' mood when I read this guide.

WTS skills...

Interesting guide. And

Interesting guide. And obviously things never go as planned so you can't take everything here word for word and anyone who reads this has to keep that in mind. Though, you do have to take into account of recent patch updates since this seems to either have been written before tbc, or just forgot to mention about diminishing returns in pvp, (also cc in pvp only lasts a total of 10 secs on all cc abilities except fear effects which are maxed at 7-9 thanks to patches).

Again, interesting read despite I myself play a lvl 70 Druid. ^_^

All of you saying that this

All of you saying that this guide is crap, and treating this like some real pvp end game guide, are complete idiots. Read who wrote it. A level TWENTY druid. This is a low level druid pvp guide for people on pvp servers who will encounter world pvp on a daily basis, written to help out those leveling up. You guys are pretty ridiculous.

Resto owns pvp. But this

Resto owns pvp. But this guide is old school. Lifebloom is not mentioned once. This guide is pre BC. And to the guy that said casting is a last resort in pvp, you are a tard.

This guide sucks imo too! It

This guide sucks imo too!
It seems the writer didn't take in count that the other player plays too and don't stands there waiting for u to hit him.
1st: never seen a resto druid with only 1 cicle of hits killing a warrior unless the druid is lv 70 and the warrior lv 30.
2nd: since the last patch mp5 is also increased by intellect and not only by spirit.
3rd: in the previous posts i read that spirit is important...the most important thing is resilience, and pvp gear, which gives resilience, on the other hand if u look it paying attention does not give spirit so u can't count on spirit for mana reg.
4th: it's not taken into consideration that generally druuds start in cat form stealth and if there is a rogue around he comes behind and sap u, u can use the trinket but again he saps u, how can u cast all that nature's grasps and so on if he keps u sapped??
5th: mages...if mages CS u, even if u press ESC u get the cast slowered in any case.
6th: warlocks....it seems so easy in the guild...but it's a pity that locks keeps generally resto druids in fear, so how can u cast all those hits on him while feared?
7th: hunters...ignoring pet...well it can be done if the hunter isn't BM but almost all hunters doing pvp seriously are BM and pets are really a problem!
again...in all this guide u forget that resto druids play with other players and so they have to heal their m8s! not only thinking about themselves!

Oh, and also, this is

Oh, and also, this is obviously a guide for resto druids. Obviously if you're feral this doesn't apply to you. All healing gear also gives you +spell dmg, not agil or anything that helps in cat form. So, yes, casting is much more efficient for resto druids than cat or bear form.
