hunter guide for newbs

In this guide i will try to help u expand your ability as a hunter. Hunters are a mainly DPS class. wich is absolutly sick!
Usually I can take to horde players that are my level and kill them)depends on classes)

Hunters do have a couple weaknesses:

THE DEAD ZONE

The dead zone is the area that you must use a melee weapon for
because hunters use they're gun/bow for most of their dps, when a opponent is charging at you it is not good. This is where the traps come in handy. Use ice and freezing traps allot, allong with wing clip and disengage. use these spells to slow down your enemy so u can get your distance back and fire away! also use your concusive shot to slow him down if possible.

I am a hunter speced at bm (beast mastery), there for my pet does allot of damage and has great armor( in fact he has more armor and health than i do!), so iuse my pet to tank, this is great when in groups , for instances and such, and ur on a boss and your doing a but load off dps, while cat is taking all the damage, and you can just use mend pet to heal him. NO PALLY NEEDED!!

If your just starting a hunter i would sudgest going bm, because it is the fastest way to level with a hunter.

PET:

your pet is amazing, and you should know that, make sure you spend his talent points, for better armor, stanima, ect
it also gives your pet new attacks. make sure when you get into a new leveling zone you check that there are no new abilities any of the creatures in that area have that you need, like the attack called prowl is obtained when u taim a cat that already had that attack

PROFESIONS:

for primary profesions i have
skinning (geat for $$$)
and leather working (Because u can make your own armor untill you hit 40 when u wear mail, but if u take the path in lw for dragon scale u make some mail armor anyway)

I'v also heard herb+alch is good for hunters

SECONDARY PROFESIONS:

Cooking, this is important for a hunter because your pet will gain more happiness from cooked food, wich helps allot

Fishing: mainly because of the loot, but some pets need fish to eat

First aid: for healing when soloing, duh

WEAPONS:

when buying weapons dont waste your money on a cool looking sword, u need to make sure u keep ur gun up to level because that is where your primary dps comes from
