This guide provides an overview of the most popular rogue talent builds, how to use them and what they are for. CHECK OUT THIS EXTREMELY in depth rogue guide, it covers everything you'll ever want to know about your rogue.

Below are some of the most popular or common rogue builds.

17/0/44 Shadowstep Ambush Hemo Rogue Talent Build

The common 17 point Assassination talents combined with the extended Burning Crusade Subtlety tree. This build will turn you into the ultimate PVP'ing machine. Just remember all those times when you've gone through a long fight with a warrior only to have him execute you at the end when you're both at low health. Now you won't have to put up with his #%!#$... 30 percent of the time, thanks to Cheat Death. I doubt matches with warriors will be that close anymore if you get the opening moves off with this rogue talent build. You can move points from Imp Sap and Heightened Senses if you want Master of Deception, I don't find it useful because I strike so fast and I shadowstep ambush people all day. I have a weapon swap macro to go from Dagger to Sword for Hemo Strikes. This is a also a decent PVE talent build; with the extra attack power and agility for dodge / crit you will find using Hemo you will beat down a lot of mobs toe to toe.

15/25/21 - Combat Daggers w/PVP Potential Talent Build

This is just a variation of one of the popular raid DPS rogue talent builds (combat daggers). With Opportunity, Imp Backstab, Dagger Specialization, and Imp Ambush you'll be able to be a productive rogue in PVP and in PVE.

49/0/12 - PVE/PVP Mutilation Talent Build

With improved proc rate on poisons you are almost guaranteed to poison your target before using mutilate especially if you open up with a cheap shot. By adding seal fate mixed with mutilate this makes for an insanely fast combo point generation build for some very fast burst DPS. If you are a cheap-shotter then feel free to move a few points away from the assassination tree to get initiative if you want.

Combat Swords - 19/42/0

This is a very excellent combat swords talent build. If you don't like swords then pick another weapon specialty in the combat tree, the talent build will still work. You get all the necessities for combat point regeneration in the assassination tree and then you get added bonuses like combat potency for more energy. You should definitely makes sure you have a fast offhand. You get 10 extra weapon skill good for hit chance and more critical strike rating, you get the chance to daze targets, and you get bonuses to your sinister strike. This talent build has PVE written all over it.

31/0/30 - Seal Fat Daggers PVP

It was always a toss up between 31/8/12 and 21/8/22 before the expansion. Now you can enjoy the best of both worlds. You can have a PVP rogue talent build and still carry the rogue's #1 instance ability, Improved Sap. This is a definite must for dagger PVPers who don't want to be excluding from instances because they didn't want to sacrifice good abilities for improved sap. With ambush as your opener and backstab for a follow up you won't have a problem downing any cloth wearer. If that isn't enough you will have cold blood for your eviscerate and preparation to cool down your abilities instantly.
